SDC PPN Linkage Groups – Round 3

General News

From ideas to action, help shape what comes next!

The South Dublin County Public Participation Network (SDC PPN) is inviting member organisations to join Round 3 of our Linkage Group meetings this September.

Following the discussions and feedback from Round 2, draft Work Plans have been developed for each of the three Linkage Groups.

These are live plans and are intended to develop over time as members identify new priorities, issues, opportunities and actions.

What are Linkage Groups?

Linkage Groups bring together SDC PPN member organisations with a shared interest in a particular policy area.

They provide an opportunity for members to share their experiences and expertise, identify issues affecting communities, contribute to PPN policy work and help shape the issues that the PPN advocates on.

The Linkage Groups also provide a space for members to work together on practical, community-led projects and initiatives.

Round 3 Linkage Group Meetings

All meetings will take place from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel.

Moving from ideas to action

The draft Work Plans include a mixture of advocacy actions and direct/member-led projects.

📣 Advocacy Actions

These focus on using the PPN’s representative and advocacy structures to raise issues, ask questions and influence decision-making with local authorities, public bodies and relevant agencies.

🛠️ Direct / Project Actions

These are practical initiatives that can be developed and led by Linkage Group members. Potential actions include community audits, workshops, surveys, guides, information initiatives and peer-learning opportunities.

Help shape the Work Plans

Round 3 is an important opportunity for members to review the draft plans and help decide what happens next.

Members will be invited to:

  • Review the proposed themes, objectives and actions
  • Identify anything that is missing
  • Suggest new priorities or actions
  • Identify which issues should be prioritised
  • Explore opportunities for members to work together
  • Identify potential partners and organisations to engage with
  • Discuss how the Linkage Groups can support PPN Representatives
  • Agree next steps for the work of each Linkage Group

Have you attended previous Linkage Groups?

We’d love to welcome you back and continue the conversations and work already underway.

New to Linkage Groups?

You’re very welcome! This is a great opportunity to meet other PPN member organisations, learn more about the Linkage Groups and bring your organisation’s experience and ideas to the discussion.
