South Dublin County Council is inviting community and voluntary groups to submit Expressions of Interest for projects under the newly launched SÍOL Programme.
The SÍOL Programme, is designed to support areas experiencing disadvantage by investing in local infrastructure projects that create positive, long-term benefits for communities and residents.
Areas Included in South Dublin County
For the first year of the programme, the following areas within the South Dublin County Council administrative area have been selected:
Clondalkin
- Clondalkin – Moorfield
- Clondalkin – Cappaghmore
- Clondalkin – Rowlagh
Tallaght
- Tallaght – Jobstown
- Tallaght – Kiltipper
- Tallaght – Killinardan
South Dublin County Council is currently seeking to identify suitable projects in these areas with a view to submitting funding applications to the Department by 14 August 2026.

What Projects Can Be Supported?
Community and voluntary groups are encouraged to put forward projects that will provide sustainable, long-term benefits for their local communities.
Eligible projects may include:
Community safety initiatives
- Public realm improvement projects
- Health and wellbeing initiatives
- Projects that support access to education and training in community settings
Proposed projects must be ready to commence following approval, with any required landowner consents and planning permissions in place at the time of application.
