The Heritage Council is inviting community and voluntary groups and non-governmental organisations to apply for funding for projects that protect, celebrate and share Ireland’s heritage.
Grants of €800 to €25,000 are available. Projects should fit one of five themes: Heritage at Risk; Biodiversity and Nature Restoration; Traditional Skills and Conservation; Digital Heritage, Access and Storytelling; or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
There is a new, simpler application process for 2027. To begin, groups submit a short Expression of Interest describing their project idea. There is no need to provide a detailed budget, quotations or supporting documents at this stage. Shortlisted groups will then be invited to submit a full application.

- 16 October 2026, 5pm: Expression of Interest deadline
- Early November 2026: Shortlisted projects announced
- 15 January 2027, 5pm: Full application deadline for shortlisted groups
