Following a decision at a Plenary meeting on 16 September 2024, South Dublin County Public Participation Network (PPN) is undertaking an Expression of Interest / Tender process to appoint a new host organisation. Local not-for-profit organisations are invited to consider becoming the host of South Dublin County PPN.

What does a host organisation do?

A host organisation provides a home and base for the operations of the PPN. This means working in partnership with the PPN Secretariat and South Dublin County Council to:

  1.  Hold and administer the PPN’s annual budget.
  2.  Recruit and employ 2 staff members on behalf of the PPN.
  3.  Provide office space for the PPN staff to operate from.

The initial hosting agreement will be for 3 years, subject to annual review.

How is funding arranged?

The successful host organisation will sign an agreement with South Dublin County PPN and South Dublin County Council. This agreement will cover a range of procedures, including the funding arrangements. The host organisation is not expected to cover PPN staffing or operational costs.

What are the benefits of hosting the PPN for the host organisation?

There are many reasons why an organisation ay host the PPN and these are included in the detailed expression of interest document. In summary, hosting the PPN includes an opportunity for an organisation to:

  • Generate additional income through the charging of a hosting fee.
  • Take advantage of potential synergies between the work of your organisation and the work of the PPN.
  • Build further capacity, capability and profile of the organisation, and potentially share limited services with the PPN (i.e. finance, audit, IT).

If my organisation is interested, what do I do?

If your organisation is interested in acting as a host organisation for the PPN, you should fill out the application template.

I have some questions, how do I find out more?
